Sam Tabar was one of the top financial managers in the country. He spent much of his career in the finance industry. He made the transition from law to finance in less than a year. He was always interested in law and finance, but finance would win his attention.
After graduating from Oxford University and Columbia Law School with a Bachelor of Arts and Masters in Law, he applied for the New York State Bar, which he later passed. While attending Columbia, he was an editor of the Columbia Business Law Journal. Shortly after passing the State Bar, he got a job at Slater, Skadden, & Arps.
His work there consisted of giving clients insights on a number of legal issues, including private placement memoranda, compliance, and employment. He also was responsible for targeted introductions that involved high-profile foundations, pensions, and funds of funds to the firm’s fund managers.
After leaving Skadden, Tabar took a job at Sparx Group/ PMA Investors Advisors. He started at PMA started as Co-Head of Business Development and Managing Director. He was in charge of all the company’s global marketing efforts aspects. The work he accomplished at Sparx Group would later serve him well as his career skyrocketed.
Continuing to follow the financial half of his career interests, Mr. Tabar also worked at America Merrill Lynch. He was named Head of Capital Strategy and was later named Director for the Asia-Pacific region. His legal and finance skills really came into play, as he was in charge of handling the bank’s budget plans.
According to Bloomberg, Sam Tabar also continued exploring the legal half of his interests at the same time. In 2013, he accepted a job at Schulte, Roth, & Zabel LLP. Again, his two interests collided with his work, but more on the legal end at Schulte. He was in charge of catering to hedge funds and compliance issues.
One of his more recent accomplishments is being named CEO of FullCycle Fund. His accepted the position in 2015 and has been leading the company into the future ever since.
